1-In a pot over medium heat, add oil, onions and cook until tender, add garlic, and sweet potato. cook for 6 to 7 minutes until browned. Add lentils and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes more.
2-Add the chicken broth and water. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 45 to 50 minutes until everything is softened. Use a hand blender to blend until smooth.
3-Add lemon juice and cooking cream then season with chili flakes, black pepper, turmeric, cumin, and salt.
4-Serve with lemon wedge, parsley and fried bread
